GEB is an association created in 1989 in Berlin by students from “Freie Universität”, who wanted to encourage intercultural exchange with other European cultures. Thru the years the association faded and in 2005 was reborn with the present team.

Our team is very multicultural, with team members coming literally from all across Europe, so from Portugal to Russia. Our multiculturallity and the fact that we all believe that intercultural exchange promotes tolerance, comprehension among people and ultimately avoids war are what makes us so strong and unique as a team.

In 2005 we redefined us as an educational association working with a variety of educational bodies, companies and public institutions. Together with them we plan, apply for funding and run projects for staff training, student’s mobility, networking and research.

At GEB we stand for simplicity and excellency. We pursuit simplicity in the bureaucratic world of project running and in working with the students and teachers by building a relationship of trust to them during their experience abroad (be this an apprenticeship, volunteering or project work) that underpins their professional and personal development. We pursuit excellency in all we do and at institutional level. This is together with our partners we work for building a European education system that maximizes every citizen's potential for learning and prepares them for success in the 21st century.
